Who We Are

Millstone Weber’s Communiversity (MWC) and STEM Initiative Program seeks to guide, educate, and support students attending identified St. Louis North County High Schools, as well as mentoring and aiding in the continued growth of DBEs in the area. It is designed to create an interest in the pursuit of heavy design, engineering, and construction careers. MWC began as a biproduct of MoDOT and Millstone Weber’s partnership on the I-270 North Design-Build Project which first broke ground in the summer of 2020.

While these programs remain directly related to this ongoing project, MWC and the STEM Initiative have grown into impactful programs which Millstone Weber plans to continue after the I-270 North Project is complete. Interested?

Inspiring the Next Generation of STEM Leaders Through Project PAVE

In Fall of 2020, MILLSTONE WEBER began searching for our next generation of leaders in STEM-driven transportation and heavy highway design, engineering, and construction professions and careers. Our first two Project PAVE (PJP) Cohorts were comprised of more than 60 students from six North County High Schools districts.  Cohort Three expanded our recruitment pool to include St. Louis City Schools as well as several far-County schools.  During an initial extended period of social distancing, students participated in virtual and hybrid learning sessions that brought the world of transportation design, engineering and construction into their homes.

This past year, students from the St. Louis City Public School system and the Metro East Region were invited to join us as we went live with monthly training sessions, mentorships, paid summer internships, financial literacy programs, drivers’ education programs and exciting experiences not to be missed.
