Project Overview

In 2017, Millstone Weber (MW) was awarded this project with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) to replace the Route 53 Bridge over the St. Francis River in Butler and Dunklin Counties. The new bridge was built on an offset alignment, allowing traffic to continue operating on the existing bridge during construction. The realignment of Route 53 required MW to import material for construction of the new roadway embankment. New portland cement concrete pavement, asphalt tie-ins to existing Route 53, and signing and striping completed the realigned portion of Route 53. The project also included replacement of the Route 53 Bridge over Malarial Ditch.
